Baytowne Beer Tour

All you need is a passport!

 To participate:

  1. Grab a passport at any participating restaurant or bar.
  2. Each participating restaurant or bar will have two beers for the tour.
  3. Pick and choose which beers you want to try.
  4. For each beer you try, get your passport stamped.
  5. One “mystery” beer will be hidden within the Village.

At the end of the night, turn your passport in at a participating restaurant. All passports with the mystery beer stamped, will be entered in a drawing for prizes. Come back to the Craft Beer Tasting on Saturday from 2-7pm to see if you win!

*Passports are free. Participants are responsible for the purchase of their own beer.

Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival Offers Barrels of Fun

The Village of Baytowne Wharf welcomes beer lovers to the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort for a special craft beer tasting, the only one of it’s kind in the area.

 The second annual Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival is set to be held October 16-17.

Event activities begin Friday night and will be spread throughout the Village, including a Beer Seminar and a Baytowne Beer Tour.

Saturday, more than 70 different types of beer will be available for participants to taste. Sample a variety of textures, aromas and appearances while enjoying live background music.

“The Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival is a unique event that provides participants the opportunity to taste and experience specialty beers as they stroll the streets of the Village,” said Lanier Motes events manager for the Baytowne Wharf Neighborhood Association. “Brewery representatives will be available to answer questions and explain about the many types of beer at the festival.”

More than 40 breweries will be pouring specialty, seasonal and not yet released beers for you to sample. The craft tasting will be from 2-7pm on Saturday.

If you find a beer you like, you don’t have to look far to purchase more. The Retail Tent, located at Lumpy’s Wine Bar, will have special discounted festival pricing for participants to take advantage of.

“The Beer Festival exceeded our expectations last year and we are looking forward to this year’s festival,” said Mike Lea, proprietor of Lumpy’s Wine Bar. “There will be a wide variety of beer available and great prices and values.”

Retail Tent hours are from 2:00-8:00pm on Saturday.

Beer Fest is where its AT!

 

Destin, FL (August 2009) – Tickets are on sale for the popular Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival at Sandestin® Golf and Beach Resort, the leading destination resort on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Held on October 16 and 17, this craft beer tasting is a one-of-a-kind event in the region.  The festival provides the opportunity for participants to learn about the lagers and ales from on-site brewery representatives.

Beer novices to beer lovers will be able to sample domestic and international options, including specialty, seasonal and not-yet-released beers.

Activities start on Friday October 16 and will include a Beer Tasting Seminar and viewing of the movie Beer Wars in the Events Plaza.   On Saturday, October 17 more than 70 different types of beer will be available for participants to taste from 2 to 7 p.m.

 New this year to the Beer Festival on Saturday is the addition of “Vettes at the Village,” a public exhibit of Corvettes of many years, colors and styles.  

Combined with the Sandestin Wine Festival and other major activities throughout the year, The Village of Baytowne Wharf has a long track record of organizing successful and enjoyable events.  “The Village provides a perfect backdrop so people can stroll the charming streets while enjoying music and entertainment, all for a very memorable experience,” said events manager Lanier Motes.

Regular admission tickets for Saturday’s tasting are available at a reduced price of $20 per person until October 16.  Special pricing for groups is also available.

 To recognize retired and active Military personnel, The Village of Baytowne Wharf is offering a special discounted ticket of $15 on October 17 with proof of service.
